Have you read any Sloan Johnson books? I have and they are great, here are a few, a rafflecopter for great prizes, and a sneak peek at what Sloan is working on RIGHT NOW!And in February, I will have a cover reveal for Sloan's book Godsend. You don't want to miss that one!
Blurb for Teach Me:
Two words stripped Austin Pritchard of the privileged life he’s used to.
The moment he uttered the words, “I’m gay,” he realized there is no
such thing as unconditional love. Now, he’s gone from traveling the
world with his family to living on the streets trying to figure out how
he’s going to stay in school.
A chance opportunity changes everything. Austin impresses the
foreman and lands a job, but even more, he catches the eye of David
Becker, who is determined to teach him that true love doesn’t come with
strings.
The only thing David had as a child was love. His family struggled
to keep food on the table and a roof over their heads. That has driven
him to stay focused on his goals; become a tenured professor at a
university and save enough money to build a home of his own. It’s not
until he sees an insecure college student working on his new house that
he realizes that he hasn’t planned on someone to share his life with.
He’s about to learn that everything he’s already accomplished is nothing
compared to the task of making Austin see that he is worthy of love.

My review of Teach me: 5 Pandas
I was in love with the idea of this story from the blurb, and reading it did not disappoint me at all.
We
start the story off with Austin on his last day at college, after being
disowned by his father for coming out, he is leaving almost everything
behind and will be homeless in just a matter of moments. Life on the
street is about as bad as he thought it would be, but he makes a few
friends that are willing to take him under their wings and show him the
ropes, so to speak.
After getting a job offer to do construction, he
meets David, a man in his 30's who is living out his dream. David takes a
liking to Austin and wants to pursue a relationship with him, but
Austin will not make that easy at all.
Will they be able to overcome
the age difference and everything else that is thrown in their paths?
You have to read Teach Me to find that out!
I like that Austin is
pretty similar to young men, I have a 21 year old son, and I can attest
to the fact that they are whiny, and insecure under normal
circumstances, under these, I think Austin is perfectly likeable! And
David has a heart of gold.
I truly enjoyed this book.
Blurb:
Tony DeLuca has to get to New York, nor’easter be damned. His older
sister is getting married and it won’t matter to her if the entire east
coast is shut down if it means she’s short a groomsman. She’s the only
reason he’s willing to make the trip home to face a father who’s never
forgiven him for wasting a perfectly good degree to become a
firefighter. And that’s only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to
everything about Tony that his father will never accept.
Dominic Tricoli’s living his dream. He’s spent the past few years
working to mesh his business degree and love of the outdoors into a
thriving company, providing team building retreats for some of the
country’s largest corporations. Unfortunately, there’s a price to pay
for happiness, and having someone to come home to at night is the
sacrifice Dominic made.
When Dominic overhears Tony’s plight, he’s drawn to help the man get
to New York City. Little does Dominic know that one kind gesture will
awaken a side of him he’s ignored for far too long. Against his better
judgment, he gives in to his desires and Tony’s advances. Just for the
night.
When destiny steps in, giving him another chance with the
charismatic man who saved his hide, Tony’s willing to do whatever it
takes to earn Dominic’s forgiveness and understanding. There may not be
forever, but Tony’s determined to enjoy every single minute he’s given
with Dominic.
You can’t fight fate. Whatever’s meant to happen, eventually will.

My Review: 5 Pandas
I love the idea of fate sometimes having a hand in our lives, and in this book it had nothing to do with the paranormal.
Dominic
is headed to New York for a wedding, but a snow storm has stopped
flights, so he rents a car and decides to drive so he isn't late. As he
is walking he hears a man, Tony, practically begging for a flight to New
York, and he decides to take a chance and offer him a ride since he
already had a car rented.
Tony cannot be late for his sisters wedding
in New York so when Dom offers him a ride he accepts. On the way they
pick up two more passengers, and that eases Tony's mind a little, even
though he is attracted to Dom, he would prefer not to be alone with a
man he just met driving on the highway.
Once they reach New York and
go their own ways both wish they had not wasted a chance. And then fate
steps in two days later, they are both there for the same wedding. For
Tony, it is hard, because he is only openly gay with his sister and her
soon to be husband. Dom is out and doesn't want to have to hide anymore.
Sloan
does a great job of telling their story and making you feel the pain
and happiness that these two go through. I laughed, and cried(ugly
cried), swooned and blushed. Dance with Destiny is a great tale that
shows that you cannot escape your fate.

“The best laid plans
of mice and men often go awry…”
This has become a bit of a mantra for me over the course of
the past year. I had my books planned out, a release schedule set, made
announcements, and then my characters laughed at me. I’ve often joked that I
write whatever story the characters tell me I have to write, but it’s really
not a joke. When I sit down, I have to feel the characters and hear what
they’re telling me.
I spent a good part of 2014 trying to beat certain
characters into submission. I felt as though I had to write them because I’d already introduced them to my
readers. The problem was that my heart wasn’t in it. I didn’t let that deter
me, and kept trying to force stories. And then, I hit a point where I felt like
I couldn’t write anything.
It wasn’t until I let go of the control that a wonderful
thing happened. The characters started talking again! They weren’t the ones I
wanted to hear from, but I was able to write. That also led to an unexpected
but wonderful genre change for me. You see, I started writing as an m/f
contemporary romance author who occasionally dabbled into the psychological and
emotional sides of BDSM, and suddenly the only characters speaking to me were
gay men. I fought with them for a long time, because I was scared to make the
change.
Soon, my third m/m romance will be released, and I can’t
explain how much happier I am! The biggest reason for this isn’t that I’m
listening to what the voices tell me, it’s because I feel like I’m doing
something with my life.
As part of a trilogy I will begin releasing later this year,
I have spent time researching the immigration process for LGBT Russians seeking
asylum in the United States. The more I learned, the more helpless I felt,
because I was learning about what these men and women face every day. I
mentioned this to a friend who is currently in the process of filing for asylum
in hopes that he’d have a suggestion for how I could do something more. I was
floored when he told me that I’m already doing something great, simply by
writing their stories.
Soon after releasing my first books, I adopted the motto
“Real Life. Real Love.” because those are the stories I enjoy writing. There
are times I wonder if I would be better off sitting down to craft elaborate
tales with fantasy characters, but that’s not me. I love watching the news and
letting painful, hard stories lead me to a character who needs to find his
happily ever after. It may not lead to the hottest stories on the market, but
my hope is that I will continue to grow and find a way to bring awareness to
causes close to my heart while captivating the readers.
Home Free is the
first book in the Shelter From the Storm trilogy. Here’s a snippet of Sasha’s
story:
“I am sorry. I did not mean to cause problem in your bar,”
Sasha apologized. Coop stared down at him with his arms crossed tightly over
his broad chest. “I will leave now.”
“I told you to follow me. We’re gonna have a chat.” The hair
on the back of Sasha’s neck stood on end, warning him that this wasn’t going to
be a pleasant conversation. Not wanting to create more problems than he already
had, Sasha reached down for his bag and followed Coop back to the office.
“Sit.”
Sasha stared at the floor, curling his fingers around the
arms of the chair as he waited for whatever was about to happen. It was stupid
to follow this man back here, where there were no witnesses, when he was
obviously upset. Sasha’s mind raced with thoughts of being beaten and left to
die in the alley behind the bar. No one would miss him. If he didn’t show up at
the church tomorrow, his new friends would assume he had decided against going
back. Jesse wouldn’t be home until Thursday, and by then it’d be too late. He’d
be nothing more than a nameless gay man washed from the Earth. Back home, he
knew they’d celebrate his death, feeling it was what he had coming to him.
Coop sat down behind the desk and cleared his throat. Sasha
steeled himself and looked up into the steely blue eyes filled with anger. “Is
it true you accepted money for sexual favors in this bar last night?”
Sasha didn’t want to admit to it, but he knew lying would
only bring more problems. If it came down to believing one of them, this man
would surely side with the person he knew. “Yes,” Sasha whispered.
“And do you know that’s illegal?” Coop asked, leaning
forward.
“Yes,” Sasha admitted, chewing the inside of his lip. If the
cops were called, Sasha would be sent home and there would be no better life
for him. Now, he wished the man would beat him to death, because even that
would be better than being deported.
“Fuck, kid. What were you thinking?” Coop growled. Sasha
felt a whoosh of air as Coop threw his baseball cap across the room. “You stay
there, I need to make a call.”
Sasha saw a door leading outside on the other side of the
room. He could have run out as soon as Coop closed the door leading to the bar,
but he didn’t. He’d reluctantly made the choice to do what he did, and he would
pay the price for that now, whatever that price might be.
